Bob Flock was born in Fort Payne, Alabama, but came to Atlanta in 1929 growing up the oldest brother of the “Fabulous Flock Racing Brothers, which included younger Fonty and Tim. Both siblings won multiple national championships in the forties and fifties, but it was Bob who the consensus of their peers (and the brothers) that he was the best of the three. Modifieds were his forte, as he racked up countless wins and several “Cup” races before retiring.

• 1946 – Replaced Bill France on the famous “Raymond Parks Racing Team”
• 1947 – Won both events at Daytona’s old “Road and Beach Course”
• 1947 – Leading Stock Car Points Championship late in season until he broke his back at Spartanburg Fairgrounds race.
• 1949 – Won first pole in NASCAR Strictly Stock history at Charlotte Fairgrounds (Officially first “Winston Cup” race)
• 1952 – Won Grand National (Winston Cup) 200 lap race at Asheville, N.C. with a broken neck.
• Member of the National Motorsports Hall of Fame Association.
