Billy McGinnis started his racing career in 1968 at Peach Bowl Speedway under his mentor, Jack Jackson.  He competed in the NASCAR Cup series, and Xfinity series during the 70’s.

Billy competed at Dixie Speedway, Jefco Speedway, and Middle Georgia Raceway winning multiple races also during those years.  He had three wins, 12 top fives and 27 top tens in the All Pro Series during the 80’s.  He also had many fastest qualifier awards.

Billy also competed in many premiere events at New Smyrna Speedway, Five Flags Speedway and Georgia International Speedway.  He won the Rattler at South Alabama Speedway in 1979.  He experienced his biggest win in 1987 at Lanier Speedway, the Budweiser Superbowl.

Billy was a stunt double for Kenny Rogers in the movie Six Pack in 1982.
