- Early 1960’s – NASCAR team owner, bringing Mercury back to the front with drivers, Roscoe Thompson, Lee Roy Yarbrough and Elmo Langley
- Late 1960’s – Promoter of races at Boyd’s Speedway in Chattanooga, TN and Troup County Speedway in GA
